Nutrition 21 has concluded an agreement with Nepcam to manufacture its Chromax chromium dietary supplement.

Nutrition 21, maker of chromium nutritional products, has signed a three-year contract for its Chromax chromium picolinate dietary supplement to be manufactured by Nepcam, a subsidiary of Rutherford Chemicals.

Nepcam will also be involved in the company's research and development activities.

Gail Montgomery, president and CEO of Nutrition 21, said: "Nepcam is well-positioned to meet our anticipated manufacturing requirements and their technical capabilities will assure that our products meet the strict quality guidelines required to participate in the food and pharmaceutical markets."

Vice president of sales and marketing at Rutherford Chemicals, Susan Ostrowski, also welcomed the agreement and said it offered potential for new applications for the ingredient. Nutrition 21 claims to be the market leader in nutritional chromium, and currently holds 36 patents for nutrition products, 25 for chromium compounds and their uses.
