Bally Total Fitness, the US-based operator of health and fitness clubs, has launched its own line of energy drinks under the Bally Blast name. The product is the latest addition to Bally's range of performance-enhancing products and supplements.
Bally Blast is a blend of taurine, ginseng, ginkgo biloba and green tea, and will be rolled out this week in more than 380 Bally Total Fitness retail outlets across the US. The Bally Blast energy drink will be followed by the launch of a Bally Blast dietary supplement line and breath mint product in the coming weeks.
"With Bally Blast, we've designed a product that tastes great and one that will help our members enhance their energy potential and sharpen their concentration at the gym and in daily life activities," said Paul Toback, chief operating officer at Bally Total Fitness. "Bally's line of performance-enhancing products and supplements has been extremely well-received both inside and outside of our clubs."
"We credit the popularity to our strong commitment to produce items of the same high level of quality associated with the Bally brand," added Toback.
Bally Blast contains a variety of healthy and natural energy-boosting ingredients, including B vitamins and more than 100 per cent of the RDA requirements for vitamin C. In addition, it contains taurine, a naturally occurring amino acid and one of the building blocks of protein, ginseng, which is commonly used in the Orient to improve mental and physical vitality, ginkgo biloba, which is known to aid cognitive function and memory, and green tea, a natural source of caffeine and antioxidants.
"There is tremendous opportunity in the energy drink market, a rapidly growing category with increasingly strong demand from consumers," said Toback. "The addition of Bally Blast to our product line is the natural and strategic step in the continued expansion and extension of the Bally brand."
