PepsiCo streamlines divisions

As anticipated, PepsiCo has brought its Quaker Oats products and its beverages together in a single division.

PepsiCo has created a new food and beverage division in North America to bring the company's beverages and Quaker Oats products under one umbrella, reports CBS MarketWatch.

Gary Rodkin has been appointed president and chief executive of the new Pepsi Beverages and Food North American division, which combines Pepsi-Cola North America with the energy drink Gatorade, Tropicana and Quaker businesses.

The Pepsi beverages include water, juice, coffee, tea and alternative drinks under brands including Aquafina, Dole, Starbucks, Lipton and SoBe.

Rodkin was formerly president of Pepsi-Cola North America.

PepsiCo acquired Chicago-based Quaker last year. Putting the new division in place now allows for a smooth transition, the company said.

"We believe this new organisation led by one of our most qualified senior executives is just the formula to maximise our entire beverage spectrum," said Steven Reinemund, chief executive of PepsiCo.
