Health Canada grants health claim for Lallemand’s Gastro-AD ingredient
The Canadian health claim confirms previous research results which have shown Gastro-AD to be capable of soothing symptoms of occasional heartburn and acid reflux and maintaining quality of life in people experiencing occasional heartburn symptoms, said the company in a release.
For example, a paper published in 2020 in BMC Research Notes described results of a clinical trial with 50 adults experiencing heartburn. The study found that supplementation with the fermented soy improved indicators of quality of life, compared to placebo.
Celia Martin, Regulatory Affairs Director for Lallemand Bio-Ingredients, commented: “We are very pleased that Health Canada has formally recognized the scientifically proven benefits of Gastro-AD for gastrointestinal health.
